Landform at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2015

For the last two and a half weeks we’ve had two teams working away at the famous Royal Hospital Chelsea, through wind and rain…plus a bit of sun!

Foremen Steve & Ed and the team have been working on the Singapore Hidden Beauty of Kranji Show Garden, designed by John Tan and Raymond Toh with Esmond Landscapes. To build a garden at Chelsea is a life dream for designers John and Raymond, who have achieved the highest accolade at the Gardening World Cup in 2013, amongst other awards. They must be very proud and pleased to have won a Silver Gilt Medal for their first Chelsea Flower Show Garden – well done chaps!

For Steve, Ed and the crew, it was an interesting build – planting trees in a gale one day, basking in the sun the next. Working alongside Esmond’s team from India and Singapore was also a great experience, different cultures coming together to build the exotic garden.

Our designer Catherine MacDonald and foreman Mike L were working on the Hartley Botanic Trade Stand. This is Catherine’s third time working with Hartley Botanic on the stand layout and planting design. The trees were supplied by Deepdale Trees, the plants by Hortus Loci and the paving by London Stone. We are thrilled to bits that they have won the top accolade – a 5 Star Tradestand Award, for all their hard work. Well done again team!

Like the Singapore Team, they were working against the elements, but everything came together in good time and Hartley Botanic are really happy with the results.

The planting and set dressing compliments the beautiful Hartley Botanic greenhouses to full effect. The planting has had many compliments, among them from 2009 Best in Show winner Ulf Nordfell as he was passing by!

All in all we are really pleased with our team’s efforts at this year’s show. They can enjoy the show week and have a short “rest” before gearing up for RHS Hampton Court Flower Show! It’s non-stop at Landform!
