It’s been a few weeks since now since RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2018 finished and we added to our hat trick of GOLD medal winning gardens this year. The Landform Garden Bar, designed by Rhiannon Williams, was a calming and relaxing space – a retreat from urban life, filled with “take-home-ideas” that visitors could relate to.
As discussed in our previous blog, the design took inspiration from the Hotel Alma in Barcelona. The versatile bar could be used for eating as well as drinking, the low seating area could be used for socialising or relaxing in.
The garden showcased the collaboration of skilled specialists, like Griffin Joinery & Duffin Fabrication, by making bespoke pieces of furniture, including the bar stools, lounge seating and fire pit, which were all designed in-house at Landform.
Using a poem by Marianne Williamson, etched into the paving supplied by London Stone, we showed how the a garden can be customised to give a personal touch, in this case – in remembrance of foreman Matthew Bradley.
The planting created a sense of calm by using predominently green foliage plants and white flowers, but with added pops of orange to brighten and uplift, there was also a sense of warming.
Here is a short video about the making of the garden:
