The Dubai Majlis Show Garden, designed by Tom Hoblyn, won a well deserved Silver Gilt medal. The garden was inspired by the sculptural beauty found in arid landscapes, from wind-blown sand dunes and fluvially eroded rock to the manmade hillside terraces and the goat-browsed topiary-esque plants that colonise them. The plants were supplied by Kelways and Deepdale. The sculptures were made by artisit Mari-Ruth Oda. Here is a time lapse video made for us by Grey Moth – showing the garden from a flat piece of ground to completion.

We would like to thank our Tom Hoblyn and his team for approaching to work on this beautiful build, plus our Landform team and the sub-contractors who helped to build the garden (in no particular order): our Landform team; Nick, Rich, John, Harry, Sophie, Jo and Catherine; Rebearth, Arc Architects, Darren and the Albion Stone team, the Johnny Winter Landscapes team, Martin Kelley and the Fairwater team, Tigon Scaffolding, Stanton & Brian Lighting, Ross Stewart and Grey Moth.
